Forged Sentinel Group is led by a seasoned team of professionals with deep experience across Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and leadership development. Our leadership brings hands-on, field-tested expertise from construction, mining, manufacturing, and complex multi-site operations.
We don’t operate as transactional consultants, we act as strategic partners, working directly with ownership, executives, and frontline leaders to build practical, defensible systems that protect people and strengthen operations.
Forged Sentinel Group was formed through the strategic partnership of Eric Zichterman and Justin Bartling, bringing together shared values, complementary expertise, and a commitment to raising the standard of EHS support. While the name is new, our collective experience spans decades of real-world application in regulatory compliance, exposure management, environmental permitting, and leadership development.
The firm was built to meet a growing need for scalable, enterprise-level EHS solutions, supporting both large, multi-state organizations and smaller operations that still face significant compliance and operational risk.
Our mission is to strengthen organizations by delivering enterprise-level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) solutions that reduce risk, ensure compliance, and develop leaders who protect people, operations, and long-term performance.
We exist to bridge the gap between regulatory requirements, environmental responsibility, and leadership execution, helping organizations operate safely, responsibly, and with confidence.

Eric Zichterman is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in construction, mining, and industrial operations, bringing a rare combination of hands-on field expertise, business ownership, and executive leadership to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) consulting.
Eric began his career working directly in the field before building and operating a successful construction company, where he experienced firsthand the operational, regulatory, and leadership challenges faced by growing organizations. That experience shaped his practical, business-minded approach to safety, one focused not only on compliance, but on building systems that support productivity, accountability, and long-term performance.
As Co-Founder and CEO of Forged Sentinel Group, Eric leads enterprise-level EHS strategy, OSHA and MSHA compliance support, and leadership development initiatives for construction, mining, manufacturing, and multi-site, multi-state facilities and organizations. A core part of his work is developing leaders at all levels, equipping executives, supervisors, and frontline leaders with the clarity, accountability, and decision-making skills required to lead safely and effectively. He works closely with ownership teams, executives, and frontline leaders to design defensible, scalable EHS programs that reduce risk while strengthening organizational culture.
